Dass Microsoft mit Office 2016 die neueste Version von Office veröffentlicht hatte, wurde hier berichtet. Nun hat der US-Konzern mit dem Office Deployment Tool für Click-to-Run ein Tool, mit dessen Hilfe das Ausführen einer benutzerdefinierten Installation von Office ermöglicht wird, veröffentlicht. Das Tool enthält auch die Beispieldatei Configuration.xml. Diese Datei kann zum Angeben von Installations- und Update-Optionen verwendet werden. Damit lässt sich eine Konfigurationsdatei erstellen, die zum Ausführen einer benutzerdefinierten Installation von Office 2016 verwenden werden kann. Dazu steht auch das Customization Tool für Office Pro Plus 2016 und Office 365 ProPlus zum Anpassen einer Office 2016 Installation bereit. Das Bereitstellungstool und das Anpassungstool können ab sofort bei Microsoft geladen werden.

Office 2016 Deployment Tool -> Feature Overview
By default, Office 2016 installations that use Click-to-Run will download Office from the Internet, with full UI, and with automatic updates enabled. Some administrators will need more control beyond the default Click-to-Run installation behavior in order to work best in their environments.
Using the Office 2016 Deployment Tool for Click-to-Run, an administrator may:
- Download an Office installation source to a network share location.
- Configure an installation to use a network share as the installation source instead of the Internet.
- Configure an installation to suppress all UI.
- Configure whether Office will automatically update or not.
- Configure which products and languages to install.
- Remove Office Click-to-Run products.
Administrators run the ODT for Click-to-Run at the command line. The tool creates a configuration file, which the administrator can modify to specify what the desired action is.
