Microsoft hat im Rahmen des heutigen Patchday für Juni 2017 auch für Office 2016 für Mac ein planmäßiges Update veröffentlicht. Mit diesem Update schließt Microsoft eine Sicherheitslücke die Remotecodeausführung ermöglichen kann, wenn eine speziell gestaltete Datei geöffnet wird. Die Ausnutzung dieser Sicherheitslücke erfordert, dass ein Benutzer eine speziell gestaltete Datei mit Word 2016 für Mac öffnet. Das Update umfasst auch diverse Neuerungen für Outlook 2016 für Mac: Damit der Nutzer weniger Zeit beim Schreiben von E-Mails verbringt, lässt sich jetzt mit Outlook 2016 für Mac eine E-Mail-Vorlage erstellen. Diese kann später auch wiederverwendet werden. Außerdem ist es jetzt möglich, Lesebestätigungen und Zustellungsbenachrichtigungen anzufordern. Zu guter Letzt wurde die Einrichtung von Exchange und Gmail Accounts verbessert. Um ein solches Account einzurichten reicht es ab sofort, den Benutzernamen mit dem Passwort einzugeben, den Rest erledigt Outlook. Das Update auf die Versions-Nummer 15.35 setzt ein Mac mit OS X Yosemite 10.10 und höher voraus und kann ab sofort bei Microsoft geladen werden. Office 2016 for Mac is updated on a regular basis to provide new features, security updates, and non-security updates. Updates are available from Microsoft AutoUpdate. To use Microsoft AutoUpdate, start an Office application, such as Word, and then choose Help > Check for Updates. If you’re an admin and want to update the computers in your organization with your existing software deployment tools, you can download and deploy the update packages for each application.
