Microsoft hat im Rahmen des Patchday für Juli 2017 ein planmäßiges Update für Office 2016 für Mac veröffentlicht. Mit der neuen Version von Office 2016 für Mac könnt ihr E-Mails zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt automatisch senden, Vorlagen kreieren und Kalendereinträge automatisch von E-Mails erstellen. Außerdem schließt Microsoft mit diesem Update auch eine Sicherheitslücke die Remotecodeausführung ermöglichen kann, wenn eine speziell gestaltete Datei geöffnet wird. Die Ausnutzung dieser Sicherheitslücke erfordert, dass ein Benutzer eine speziell gestaltete Datei mit Office 2016 für Mac öffnet. Außerdem bringt das Update auch eine neue Version von Microsoft AutoUpdate. Das Update auf die Versions-Nummer 15.36 setzt ein Mac mit OS X Yosemite 10.10 und höher voraus und kann ab sofort über die Software-Aktualisierung geladen werden.

Office 2016 for Mac is updated on a regular basis to provide new features, security updates, and non-security updates. Updates are available from Microsoft AutoUpdate. To use Microsoft AutoUpdate, start an Office application, such as Word, and then choose Help > Check for Updates. If you’re an admin and want to update the computers in your organization with your existing software deployment tools, you can download and deploy the update packages for each application.
