Microsoft hat im Rahmen des heutigen Patchday für März 2017 auch für Office 2016 für Mac ein wichtiges Sicherheitsupdate veröffentlicht. Mit dem Update mit der Versions-Nummer 15.32 bringt Microsoft die Unterstützung für Apples Touch Bar für Outlook 2016 für Mac. Die Touch Bar für Outlook kann unter anderem zuletzt verwendete Dokumente einblenden, um diese direkt in eine neue E-Mail einfügen zu können. Word, Excel und PowerPoint 2016 für Mac hatten mit dem letzten Update die Unterstützung für Apples Touch Bar bereits erhalten. Außerdem behebt Microsoft mit diesem Sicherheitsupdate auch Sicherheitslücken in Office 2016 für Mac. Die schwerwiegendste Sicherheitslücke kann Remotecodeausführung ermöglichen, wenn ein Benutzer eine speziell entworfene Office-Datei öffnet. Ein Angreifer, der die Sicherheitslücken erfolgreich ausnutzt, kann beliebigen Code im Kontext des aktuellen Benutzers ausführen. Das Update auf die Versions-Nummer 15.32 setzt ein Mac mit OS X Yosemite 10.10 und höher voraus und kann ab sofort bei Microsoft geladen werden.
