Microsoft hatte Office Mobile für iPhone für Besitzer eines Office 365 Abonnements bereits Mitte Juni veröffentlicht. Ein paar Tage später war die App auch in Deutschland und in weiteren 135 Ländern erhältlich. Im Google Play steht ab sofort für Besitzer von Office 365 Abonnements auch das Office Mobile für Android 4.0 oder höher zum Download zur Verfügung. Mithilfe der Office App für Android können alle Dokumente, die in Word, Excel und PowerPoint erstellt wurden, geöffnet, betrachtet und bearbeitet werden, unabhängig davon ob sich die Dokumente auf dem Phone oder online auf SkyDrive oder SharePoint befinden. Die App setzt Android 4.0 oder höher und ein Office 365 Abonnement voraus und kann ab sofort geladen werden.

Office Mobile wird in den nächsten Wochen in 33 Sprachen und in 117 Märkten verfügbar sein. Zunächst wird es die App allerdings nur in den Vereinigten Staaten geben. Microsoft wird die Verfügbarkeit nach und nach auf weitere Märkte und Sprachen erweitern. Office Mobile für Android Phones mit Android 4.0 oder höher und für Office 365 Abonnenten kann ab sofort im US-amerikanischen Google Play kostenlos heruntergeladen werden.
