The Windows Media Format Feature Pack for N- and KN-Editions of Windows 7 Starter, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate and Enterprise is now available for download from Microsoft Download Center. The Windows Media Format Feature Pack for Windows 7 N and Windows 7 KN will install the Windows Media Format runtime on a computer running a Windows 7 N, or Windows 7 KN edition. End -user customers can enable only Windows Media Format support for applications which support Windows Media files by installing the Media Format Feature pack. This package will only install the components needed for Windows Media format support.

Windows 7 N and Windows 7 KN editions include the same functionality as Windows 7, except that these versions of Windows do not include Windows Media Player, and related technologies. If you wish to install Windows Media Player and related technologies use the Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 (KB968211).
